Two distinguished gentlemen, Mr. Neil O'Brien, and Mr. Ronald Forbes from Toronto visted the Tollygunge Homes and spent some time with the residents. Mr. Forbes conducted a few rounds of Housie for the residents of the Homes.
The Chairman of the EICT, Mr. Barry O'Brien took the visitors around the Homes and introduced them to the residents and staff.

The 5th edition of the EICT fund raising programme was held at "Atmodya Bhavan", the auditorium of La Martiniere for Boys', Kolkata on the evening of 23rd January 2013. Children from eight schools participated in a song competion which was judged by two well-known personalities, Nondon Bagchi and Shayne Hyrapiet . The EICT brought out a brochure on the occasion with advertisements from our well-wishers who had donated generously for the charity work we do.

Spreading the joy of Christmas

The Tiny tots of The EICT Nursery celebrated their Christmas party at the auditorium of The Frank Anthony Public School on 8 December. The children enacted the Nativity scenes and sang some lovely Christmas carols.

Lending a helping hand

The EICT disburses a regular monthly grant of INR 300 to almost 90 poor Anglo Indians and members of other communities as part of its Grant-in-Aid to Beneficiaries program. In addition to the regular monetary aid, a sum of INR 400 is also given to the beneficiaries every year during the Festive season in December. Old clothes, shoes etc. are also gifted to them.
This year, on 6 December, Mr. Barry O’Brien, Chairman of the EICT welcomed the beneficiaries at the EICT office and interacted with every one present. The recipients were also treated to cake and coffee. Mr. Akhtarul Islam, Governing Council member of the EICT was also present on the occasion.

Tollygunge Homes Christmas Party

Gifts were distributed to the residents of Tollygunge Homes on 1 December 2012. The residents and guests were treated to tradional Bengali High Tea. The "Youthful" seniors danced to songs of yesteryears performed live in the newly renovated Dining Hall.The renovation of the Dining Hall, Ladies' and Gentlemen's dormitories and the Married Quarters was the initiative of the Chairman of the EICT, Mr. Barry O'Brien. All these jobs will be complete before Christmas Day 2012.
We appeal to all generous donors to help us meet part of the expenses incurred for the renovation work.

The Chairman of the EICT, Mr. Barry O'Brien conducted a lively session of Housie for the residents of Tollygunge Homes on Independence Day 2012. Mrs. Denise O'Brien had arranged for the money which was distributed amongst the residents to play the game.

We are thoroughly renovating the Married Quarters inside the lush green 7 acre compound of Tollygunge Homes, providing 4 fully furnished, cosy and comfortable, 'Homely Suites', each comprising a living room, an air-conditioned bedroom, a modern toilet, a fully equipped kitchenette and a balcony overlooking the front lawn. A microwave oven, an electric kettle and a full set of crockery and cutlery are provided in the kitchenette. A refrigerator, electric iron and ironing board are also provided in each suite.
All the four suites - two on the Ground floor and two on the First floor - will be ready to welcome Senior Citizen Married Couples from 10 December 2012.

Two world-class golf courses - The Tollygunge Club & The Royal Calcutta Golf Club - are in the vicinity and there is a Metro station within five minutes walking distance.

True Independence

The Senior residents of the Tollygunge Homes may not have any blood relations or may very well have been abandoned and forgotten by their relatives, but there are so many caring and compassionate people in this city of Mother Teresa who treat the residents of the Homes as their own.
